Crazy Quilt Jacket
Vintage crazy quilt coat with set-in sleeves and contrasting facing and under collar. Double wooden toggle button closure.
Repurposed from a beautiful crazy quilt in striking deep moody colours. This crazy quilt is filled with all kinds of gorgeous silk and velvet textiles. This quilt was hand-sewn, which you can see on the inside, in the early 1900's. The Peter Pan color can either be worn up or down and shows the reverse side of the quilt. The wrist length set-in sleeves are shaped and tailored as a slightly-fuller-than-traditional sleeve. The coat is light weight and waist length.
The front and back of the quilt were in great condition with very minimal signs of wear and/or stains that inevitably come on a quilt that is over 100 years of age.
It has a soft feel and drape, and holds its structure when moving. This piece is light weight and would be perfect for the spring and fall months when you need just a touch of warmth. Would look fantastic in the spring with a simple tee or tank. Pair that with jeans and gorgeous leather footwear and you are walking into spring with style.
It is sized Medium { max 44” Chest/ 21.5” Jacket Length}
Please note, this item is made from an antique crazy quilt and the fabric reflects this in both its beauty and its imperfections. Some quilts are more loved than others. This piece has a few old and permanent spots which are now one with the quilt. I have done my best to design the jacket around the stains, but there may be a few in areas. The structural integrity of the quilt was in good condition.
The quilt was carefully pre-washed before designing. Carefully wash or dry clean and lay flat to dry.
